What is NACRAO?

The Nebraska Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers was founded in 1927.  We are a non-profit educational and professional association dedicated to promoting the advancement of higher education in Nebraska through...


...the encouragement of cooperation and collaboration among in-state and regional colleges, universities, and educational organizations.

...a common goal to educate Nebraska's residents about the opportunities, benefits, processes and procedures associated with higher learning.

...continued growth, education, and professional development of Admissions and Records & Registration staff in Nebraska's schools and training facilities.


NACRAO is affiliated with the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), the national organization for higher education Admissions and Records & Registration personnel.




Who belongs to NACRAO?

The NACRAO membership includes:
  1.  Nebraska admissions and registration personnel
  2.  Regional institutions and educational organizations
  3. Individuals whom have been elected to be honorary members
  4. Professional affiliates


NACRAO members are affiliated with over 80 public, private, two-year and four-year institutions and organizations associated with higher learning and advanced training in and around the state of Nebraska.


How does NACRAO work?

NACRAO is make up of individual and institutional memebers.

Board of Directors - NACRAO is governed by an elected Board of Directors.  Board members are asked to serve a 2 year term.  This group includes the following officers:

  • President Elect
  • President
  • Past-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Vice-President for Communications
  • Vice-President for Membership
  • Vice-President for Education and Professional Development

Committees - NACRAO encourages all members to serve on a standing or ad-hoc committees that help plan and ficilitate the forward movement of the organization.  Participation on committees allows individuals to experience personal and professional growth. Committees include:
  • Honorary Membership Committee
  • Nominations and Elections Committee
  • Professional Growth and Innovations Committee
    • Admissons:  New Counselors Workshop
    • Registrars:  Regsitrar's Workshop
    • Administrative Staff:  Administrative Staff Workshop
  • Post-Secondary/Educational Planning Programs Committee
  • Research Committee
  • Diversity and Multiculturalism Committee
  • Technology Committee
  • Ad-Hoc Committees -created as necessary-for example, NOW (NACRAO on Wheels) Bus Tour Committee


Benefits of NACRAO

NACRAO membership has many benefits.  Becoming a part of this organization gives the opportunity to do the following:

  • Access useful information from the NACRAO website
  • Be a part of the list serve allowing the exchange of ideas and concerns in higher education and to learn about job postings, college fairs, educational planning programs, professional development days
  • Gain access to all NACRAO members' contact information in an annually updated directory

Additionally, NACRAO sets members up to develop worthwhile relationships with people who do what you do at other schools in Nebraska and throughout the region.  Serving on the Board of Directors, or volunteering to chair or assist on a committee looks great on a resume, helps promote your school, and truly expand your professional network.  NACRAO provides the chance to connect with others when you have questions or need ideas on how to approach a challenge or incorporate a useful new concept, process, or procedure!
