Nebraska On Wheels-2008
It was another successful year for the Nebraska On Wheels bus tour sponsored by NACRAO and EducationQuest Foundation. It was the 4th annual N.O.W. Tour, with this year's version covering colleges in the Central Region including Hastings College, The campuses of Central Community College in Grand Island, Hastings, and Columbus, York College, Concordia University, and Southeast Community College-Milford. Twenty-four high school counselors and six N.O.W. committee members participated. The three-day tour was informative, fun, and kept everyone engaged from early morning to evening.
The counselor evaluations always highlight that there is no better way to learn about an institution than to visit, tour and learn firsthand from the college experts themselves. The N.O.W. Tour provides the opportunity to see college campuses, facilities and learn about programs that help these counselors assist their students. Counselors say additional highlights of taking the tour are the contacts they make and the colleagues they meet which are invaluable to their profession. Many of these counselors have participated in all four N.O.W. tours in the five-region cycle and promise to attend next year commenting that they wouldn't miss it!
The 2009 Nebraska on Wheels will tour the Panhandle Region and is scheduled for June 15 - 18.
